Our Story
The idea of 'John Loves Susan' (JLS) was the beginning of JLS Alpacas. After seeing alpacas for the first time, the seed was planted that one day we might have a few of our own. Alpacas are amazing animals. Each has his or her own unique personality; all lovable.They are grown for their fleece or fiber which produces luxurious yarn. In addition, if you spend any time with them at all, you will soon learn that these gentle creatures have the ability to soothe your soul. We want to share that love with everyone who comes our way.
Originally from Arizona, we decided after becoming empty nesters, that it was time for a move! We now call Martin County our home and are perfectly situated between Raleigh and the Outer Banks. Our farm was established in 2021 with the purchase of our first two alpacas and incorporated as an LLC in 2023. We are just beginning this adventure and hope that you will be inspired to learn more about alpacas.
Our Mission
At JLS Alpacas, we're on a mission to introduce the world of alpacas to Eastern North Carolina. We believe that the calming nature of these animals can be a valuable resource for our community. Our aim is to share the magic of alpacas, allowing everyone in our region and beyond to unwind in their company and learn more about these captivating creatures.

We hope to become a must-stop in Eastern North Carolina for families and alpaca lovers alike. We want to radiate love and broaden our operations, making our farm a welcoming hub where visitors can create cherished memories and immerse themselves in the alpaca experience.
